Concrete work for commercial property

We work commercial as well as residential, and the listing has said both since the start.

Flatwork that takes truck traffic

A slab a forklift crosses, or that a loaded truck turns on, is a different pour to a back patio. The thickness goes up, the steel goes in, the edges get thickened where the load hits, and the joint layout has to be planned instead of eyeballed. Every joint in a commercial slab is a place where water and traffic will work on the edges.

The failure you see most on older commercial concrete around here is spalling and potholes right where the trucks track, usually starting at a joint that was cut too shallow. We cut those out square and get the base back under them, then pour a section that ties in flush instead of leaving a lip for a pallet jack to catch.

Working around a business that stays open

Most commercial jobs can't shut the property down. We stage the work so one section is out at a time, keep the access lane usable, and get the pour done early so it isn't roped off through your whole afternoon. Our crews start at 6:00 AM, which on a hot week is worth a lot on a commercial pour.

Concrete still needs its time before anything heavy runs on it. We'll be straight with you about how long that is for each section instead of letting a truck back over it early and undo the work.

Jose and his crew demolished and replaced a 600 foot sidewalk at my warehouse and repaired large potholes in the concrete driveway. They were always on time and worked hard. Jose went the extra mile to make sure I was happy with everything. If you're looking for quality work at affordable prices, these are your guys. Highly recommended.

Father and son business, top-notch work at a great price. The father has many years of experience and it shows. I’m very impressed with the concrete slab they laid for a carport, perfectly leveled and square. I will hire them again for a driveway extension at my parent’s place. Thank you J&M Construction 💯.

José and his company did an impeccable job. I recommend them without hesitation. I even had an inspection a few weeks after the work was completed, and the inspector confirmed that the work was done with excellent quality concrete and proper drainage.

It comes down to the square footage, the thickness you need, whether there's old concrete to break out, and how close a truck can get to the pour. A straight residential drive with good access is a different number than a narrow lot where everything moves by buggy. We price it after we've seen it, and the estimate is free.

Usually yes. Pouring a thin layer over a cracked slab means the old cracks come through the new concrete, often within the first year, because the movement underneath never stopped. If the existing slab is sound and the height works, we'll tell you that too, since it saves you the demolition.
